The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions into the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency reported it is alarmed with regard to the large amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a higher variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office committed to service the area daily. The company point produced for intervention experiences a higher influx of possible beneficiaries, which makes it difficult for the Workplace sassa status check to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more resources to help the servicing of all clients and improve access to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
